Yahoo Provider


Yahoo Provider gets delayed data from Yahoo servers. It gets snapshot data every four seconds. It automatically perform a backfill every N-snapshot so that complete OHLC bars are created.

Connection Instructions

1. Start QuantShare
2. Select in the menu "Accounts -> Connect" then select "Yahoo Provider"
3. In Connection Settings and under "Provider Settings" tab, you can update the following fields:

Backfill after N-Ticks: Specify the number of ticks or snapshots after which a backfill is performed. This is useful in order to create complete OHLC bars.

Click "Close" to save settings and starts the Yahoo Provider connection

Yahoo Provider Symbology

Yahoo provider supports stocks and indices only.

US Stocks:

You can reference US stocks simply by their symbol.

Example:
GOOG for Google
AAPL for Apple

International Stocks:

Type the ticker name then add the exchange suffix. List of suffix for each exchange is available here: http://finance.yahoo.com/exchanges

Example:
Company: Toronto-Dominion Bank
Exchange: Toronto
Suffix: .TO
Ticker: TD.TO
