I am getting an error in a formula when using extern symbols as inputs to a neural network. The error is:
Syntax error on "^", state 403, expecting: PLUS MINUS NEG .... Error while compiling formula

An example of some of the external symbols I am trying to use as inputs are:
Extern Symbol Symbol: ^DJT - Field: close
Extern Symbol Symbol: ^DJI - Field: volume

Also, is there a way to define an input to the neural network as the 30 day moving average of the volume from an external symbol (e.g. MvAvg(30, DowIndustrial, Volume)?

Thanks

This problem was fixed few days ago. The fix will be available in the next release.

- Instead of using "External Symbol" type, select "Formula" then type: GetSeries("^DJT", close) or GetSeries("^DJI", volume)

- To add this SMA input, select "Formula" then type:
sma(GetSeries("^DJI", volume), 30)

Trading financial instruments, including foreign exchange on margin, carries a high level of risk and is not suitable for all investors. The high degree of leverage can work against you as well as for you. Before deciding to invest in financial instruments or foreign exchange you should carefully consider your investment objectives, level of experience, and risk appetite. The possibility exists that you could sustain a loss of some or all of your initial investment and therefore you should not invest money that you cannot afford to lose. You should be aware of all the risks associated with trading and seek advice from an independent financial advisor if you have any doubts.
