Problem with "Save Trading System" in Optimizer

I have run the Optimizer for several generations. I then close the optimization process and go to the main Optimizer screen (AI then Optimizer). Next I select a line item. Next I click Report.

Then I click on "Save Trading System" for one of the line items in the Report and go through the save process. Following this I bring up the Simulator and the Trading
system is there. However, some of the information is not from my trading system. It looks like the incorrect information is from Simulation 2 which came preloaded. For example,
the created date is 12/22/2010 which is before I first downloaded QuantShare and worse the buy and sell rules are not mine, they are the same as Simulation 2.

Am I doing something wrong or is there a problem with the save?

Thanks,
George

We will fix the "created date" problem.

I was not able to reproduce this issue. The "save" button works here.

Please note that the buy and sell rules are obtained from the "Buy & Sell rules" Genes Grid. (Optimizer -> Trading System)
You should get the same buy and sell rules that are next to the "Save Trading System" button (Under the "Chromosome" column).

I expect that it would do exactly as you have described in your reply:

"You should get the same buy and sell rules that are next to the "Save Trading System" button (Under the "Chromosome" column)."

However, that does not happen for me. I always get the rules for Simulation 2. I even tried deleting Simulation 2 and I still get the same Simulation 2 rules no matter which line item I try to save. I never get the rules from the "Chromosome" column.

The only way I can get the correct rules is to copy them from the "Chromosome" column and paste them into a previously saved Trading System.

One other thing. When I hit the "Save Trading System" button, it always defaults to the item name "Simulation 2" even after I have deleted Simulation 2.

Any ideas on how I can get out of this mess?

Thanks,
George

OK, I think I found out where the Simulation 2 stuff is coming from. On the "Trading System Settings" tab of the Optimizer, there is a section called "Load/Update Trading System". When I click on "Update", I can see that Simulation 2 is there. That makes me think that at some point, I loaded Simulation 2 into the Optimizer for this Optimization. This raises several questions:

1. If a Trading System is loaded here and I go to a report after an optimization is completed, should I still get get the same buy and sell rules that are next to the "Save Trading System" button (Under the "Chromosome" column) saved to the new Trading System when I click the "Save Trading System" button or should I get the buy and sell rules for what is loaded here?

2. If a Trading System is loaded here, is there a way to "unload" it?

3. What is the purpose of the "Load/Update Trading System" section when optimizing a Trading System? The rules in the "loaded" Trading System do not seem to get into the Chromosomes?

Thanks,
George

When you hit the "Save Trading System" button, do you get a form that asks you to enter the trading system name?

1- Yes, you should get the buy/sell rules under the "Chromosome" tab
2- To unload it. Create an empty trading system then load this empty system
3- The purpose is to update the capital settings, stop rules, money management scripts...

Don't know if you still need the answer to your question:

When you hit the "Save Trading System" button, do you get a form that asks you to enter the trading system name?

Yes, I get a form, but when a trading system is loaded, the name of the loaded trading system is already filled in, but I can change it so it saves under a different name.

Thanks for your help!

George
