Use this item to download historical quotes data for the Ocean Tomo Patent Indexes. The data spans from 2007 to present.
The Ocean Tomo Patent Index was developed by Ocean Tomo, LLC. It provides a market benchmark for the U.S. economy. This economy has seen an increase in intangible assets relatively to tangible assets over the last 40 years. According to Ocean Tomo, LLC, in 1975, less than 20% corporate value was represented by intangible assets. Today, intangible assets represent nearly 75% of corporate value.
The Ocean Tomo 300 Patent Index can be traded through two ETFs:
The Claymore/Ocean Tomo Patent ETF and the Claymore/Ocean Tomo Patent Growth ETF.
The first ETF symbol name is OTP in the New York stock exchange and the second ETF symbol name is OTR in the NYSE.
The following symbols are added after the historical data is downloaded:
^OTP.IV, ^OTPAT, ^OTPATG, ^OTPATV, ^OTR.IV
Even if the current downloader automatically add symbols, you can download symbols from the current list (Ocean Tomo Patent Indexes) to get the index names as well as the symbol names.
