My trading system is based on fundamental data and it would be nice if I can use it direcly in QS.

Now I want to describe my idea:

At first I need a correct Symbol database, therefore it would be great if you can update all basic information%u2019s like industry, sector, subsector, country and so on automatically via IB API, because if somebody want to compare the ticker with its industry it is essential to have correct data.

At next I want to filter my watch-list with some key ratios from IB.
Now you can get the data on two different ways.

1st Way: We get that information directly from IB, but the data are only correct at the moment of the transfer (quick and dirty)
2nd Way: Transfer the hole fundamental data from IB in a predefined interval and calculate the ratios in real-time.
I prefer the second way, because I think an update over all tickers takes too much time.
To make the calculation it is necessary to download all fundamental data from IB: Income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement, basic information%u2019s like Employees, common shares outstanding and floating .....

Thank you Christian but as already discussed in previous emails, Fundamental data integration with IB is not yet implemented. Not sure about the release date.
For now, please use "Symbol -> Auto Manage Symbols" to associated symbols with industry, sector and country data.

Hi,
I too would love to have a method of linking stocks with their respective industries and sectors, with accurate classification.

For now, please use "Symbol -> Auto Manage Symbols" (Make sure "Force update of symbol..." is checked)

Trading financial instruments, including foreign exchange on margin, carries a high level of risk and is not suitable for all investors. The high degree of leverage can work against you as well as for you. Before deciding to invest in financial instruments or foreign exchange you should carefully consider your investment objectives, level of experience, and risk appetite. The possibility exists that you could sustain a loss of some or all of your initial investment and therefore you should not invest money that you cannot afford to lose. You should be aware of all the risks associated with trading and seek advice from an independent financial advisor if you have any doubts.
