The downloader still gets data for about 81 fields. What makes you think it gets data for 10 items only?

In Download Manager,when I go to Fields,I only have 10 available fields.I believe I used to have 81.
When you go to fields,do you show 81 fields?

Thanks,

Allan

I now see that the 81 fields are available when I go to" Add a Function">Database Fields>Morningstar..I thought they would also show up in DownloadManager >Fields

Sorry about that

All fields are downloaded. You can see that by debuging the download item:

Hi,
If anyone is using the MorningStar fundamental data,could you verify the dividend of XOM?
I am noticing that the data from the Morningstar Historical Downloader may have a very long lag time.

When I chart the Dividend of XOM,I get 1.85.If you go directly to the Morningstar sight,they have Dividends of 2.28.

XOM increased their quarterly dividend on 5/10/12 to .57 but its not being reflected by QS..

I am wondering if all fundamental data has this lag

Thanks,

allan

If I remember well, this downloader gets yearly data.

So if I want current up to date data the Finziz downloader and Morningstar does not do it?

The Morningstar gets historical yearly data (not quarterly). The Finviz downloader gets only the last data (no historical).
The plugin gets ranking data (not the fundamental values/ratios).

I see that the Morningstar downloader gets annual date,the issue is it does not match the data on the Morningstar website.The data on the Morningstar website is current,as the annual (trailing 12 months) is not..It distorts the backtesting,and doesnt make for an accurate screen.

i dont understand if you are pulling the data from Morningstar,how it could be off..

It does match the data on the morningstar website. I have checked many symbols and the data is exactly the same.
Example:
http://financials.morningstar.com/ratios/r.html?t=AAPL&region=USA&culture=en-us

As I said the downloader gets historical data (not current) and this is what you need if you are running backtests.

ISome are and some arent...The dividend yields do not match up..or my formula is wrong

Div = GetData('morningstar_fundamentals', 'dividends_usd', LastData);
DivYield=Div/close;
plot(Div,"Div",colorred,chartline,Styleownscale);

I have XOM paying out 1.85 in dividends(.47 quarterly..Morningstar has 2.28(.57 quarterly)..

There are many examples of this

Allan,

The data that is downloaded can be found here:
http://financials.morningstar.com/ratios/r.html?t=XOM&region=USA&culture=en-us

Check QuantShare database then check the above link and you will find that the data is exactly the same.

This downloader doesn't get 12 month trailing data. If you are interested in 12 month trailing data, you can hire one of our programmers who can implement a downloader for you.
