Hi,
I am a bit confused on how/where to import a list of stocks that I produced from GuruFocus(a fundamental value website)

I did create a list of the stocks and imported them into a list.

In the other programs I use,I typically imported a list of stocks directly into a watchlist,group,etc..

How do I do that in QS??

Thanks,

allan

You have to import new stocks in the database first

Let me rephrase the question as there seems to be a miscommunication.

I have a database of over 8000 stocks in QS

I run various fundamental value and growth screens outside of QS that i save to excel. In my other programs,I can import them into a watchlist or a list. I can then set up various filters in a screener or exploration and monitor the group.

What I am asking is how do I set up a group of 10 - 50 symbols that I saved in Excel, without typing each name individually.I most likely have every symbol in my database, but I want to set up a watchlist or screener to monitor and then run various backtests.I assume it is simple to backtest the symbols in a watchlist.(i will check the PDF/Lessons)

Thanks,

Allan

Best Answer
After you create a static watchlist, copy symbols from your excel file (CONTROL+C) and paste them into the static watchlist control (CONTROL+V)

To backtest the symbols in a watchlist, add an "Internal List" condition (In Symbols Selection control) then select your watchlist.
