The Dubai Financial Market is a stock exchange based in Dubai (United Arab Emirates). This stock exchange was founded on March 26, 2000 and is owned now by Borse Dubai. It currently lists about 65 companies for nine different sectors:
Banks, Investment & financial services, Insurance, Real estate and construction, Transportation, Materials, Consumer staples, Telecommunication, Utilities.
Most of the companies listed in the Dubai Financial Market (DFM) are based in the United Arab Emirates. Unlike the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange, most DFM listed companies allow foreigners to own their shares.
