This is another economic calendar downloader item for Forex traders. The benefit of using this one over (Historical economic calendar data by currency symbol) is that the current item is much faster in downloading the data. The data is stored into a custom database 'economic_cal ' with the following fields: the event date, the event or release name, the actual value, the consensus value, the previous value and the volatility of the event.

After the data is downloaded, the application creates the following symbols to store the data:
EUROPE, AUSTRALIA, BRAZIL, CANADA, CZECH REPUBLIC, EGYPT, EUROPEAN MONETARY UNION, GERMANY, HUNGARY, ICELAND, JAPAN, NEW ZEALAND, NORWAY, POLAND, SLOVAKIA, SOUTH AFRICA, SWEDEN, SWITZERLAND, TURKEY, UNITED KINGDOM, UNITED STATES.

For some countries (SOUTH AFRICA, SWEDEN, SLOVAKIA...), only Interest Rate Decisions are available but for the others (UNITED STATES, JAPAN, GERMANY...), all releases and events data are downloaded (Trade Balance, Consumer Price Index, Surveys, Retail Sales, Gross Domestic Product, Unemployment Rate, Business Climate...).

You can download data that is not yet released by specifying a future 'end date'. For example, if you want to download events that will occur during the next month, just set the 'end date' input box to the next month date.

NB: In case the forecast, actual or previous values are unavailable, the corresponding fields get a NAN (Not a number: double.NaN) value.
Data spans from 2007 to one month into the future.

Trading financial instruments, including foreign exchange on margin, carries a high level of risk and is not suitable for all investors. The high degree of leverage can work against you as well as for you. Before deciding to invest in financial instruments or foreign exchange you should carefully consider your investment objectives, level of experience, and risk appetite. The possibility exists that you could sustain a loss of some or all of your initial investment and therefore you should not invest money that you cannot afford to lose. You should be aware of all the risks associated with trading and seek advice from an independent financial advisor if you have any doubts.
