London Stock Exchange News

I have previously created and uploaded a downloader and a list of symbols for the London Stock Exchange.

As with the downloader that used Google to retrieve historical end-of-day data, this item uses Google to download news data feed for companies listed in the LSE (London Stock Exchange).
Downloader: LSE - UK - EOD data
List of symbols: LSE Symbols

News feeds are downloaded for each symbol and are stored into a custom database "uk_news", with the following fields:
Date: The news item release date
Title: The news item title
Description: The news item description
Link: The news item link at Google

After you download this object, open the downloader and click on 'Start' to begin the downloading process. You can use the database viewer (Tools -> Database data) to display the news data for the selected symbols. You can also plot news items in your charts.

Here is a way to remove symbols that do have news data:
The first time you run the object, select all symbols. After you finish the downloading process, Select 'Tools' (top-right), in the 'Download Manager', and click on 'Create a symbol list from the unchecked symbols'. This will open a form that contains the symbols that had news data. (If an error is displayed while downloading news feed for a symbol, this means that there is no news data for that symbol).
Copy all the symbols and close the form. Now in the 'Symbols' tab in your download item, you need to set the symbols selection filter to 'list' (Under the 'Name' column). Click on 'Custom Symbols', click on the grid cell, and then insert the previously copied symbols in the text box.

Trading financial instruments, including foreign exchange on margin, carries a high level of risk and is not suitable for all investors. The high degree of leverage can work against you as well as for you. Before deciding to invest in financial instruments or foreign exchange you should carefully consider your investment objectives, level of experience, and risk appetite. The possibility exists that you could sustain a loss of some or all of your initial investment and therefore you should not invest money that you cannot afford to lose. You should be aware of all the risks associated with trading and seek advice from an independent financial advisor if you have any doubts.
