Moody's, Fitch Ratings, Standard & Poor's, EJR and Dominion Bond Rating Service (To name just a few) are credit rating agencies that try to estimate the credit worthiness of a corporation's debt issues and give a score or credit rating to each one. Investors of debt securities (example bonds) can then use these credit ratings as a financial indicator.

Moody's is one of the biggest credit rating agencies in the United States. It gives a rate of AAA to bonds that have a risk that is almost equal to zero (High-grade corporate bond yield). Moody's gives a rate of BAA to medium safe investments. Junk bonds refer to bonds that have a rating below Baa.

The BAA Corporate Bond Yield Forecast contains mean forecasts of the current and next year BAA Corporate Bond Yield. These forecasts are obtained from the Survey of Professional Forecasters; a survey conducted every quarter and used to create several other forecasts such as the 5-Year CPI Inflation Rate, Housing Starts, Corporate Profits After Tax, Natural Rate of Unemployment, Nonfarm Payroll Employment, Probability of Changes in Real GDP, Probability of a Decline in RGDP, 10-Year Stock Return, 10-Year Bill Return, 3-Month Treasury Bill Rate (TBILL) and AAA Corporate Bond Yield (BOND). Historical bond yield forecasts for US companies that had the highest Moody's rate (AAA) can be downloaded here: AAA Corporate Bond Yield Forecast.

Trading financial instruments, including foreign exchange on margin, carries a high level of risk and is not suitable for all investors. The high degree of leverage can work against you as well as for you. Before deciding to invest in financial instruments or foreign exchange you should carefully consider your investment objectives, level of experience, and risk appetite. The possibility exists that you could sustain a loss of some or all of your initial investment and therefore you should not invest money that you cannot afford to lose. You should be aware of all the risks associated with trading and seek advice from an independent financial advisor if you have any doubts.
