Bolsa de Valores, Mercadorias & Futuros de São Paulo or the BM&F BOVESPA is the main exchange in Brazil and the fourth largest exchange in America in terms of market capitalization.
It was formed after the merger of the Bovespa (Sao Paulo Stock Exchange) and the BM&F (Brazilian Mercantile and Futures Exchange) on May 8, 2008.
This item contains a list of ticker symbols of all companies listed on the BM&F BOVESPA. It contains the symbol, company title, industry, index (specify whether the stock belongs to the Bovespa Index or not) and yahoo-compatible name of 363 stocks.
The Bovespa Index is the main index of BM&F BOVESPA. It contains 63 stocks and its symbol name in this list is "^BVSP". The stocks that belong to this index account for about 80% of the volume traded on this exchange. The Bovespa Index uses a weighting method similar to the free float method called Negotiability Index.
