I tried backing up my account using this article (Update Account -> Change Database Folder), but after i change the folder and restart QS, the new database folder
has no data - QS displays the charts with no data.

How do i backup all my QS work (data downloaded + trading objects + settings), so i can move it to a new computer and install and use QS from a new computer?

To copy everything to a new computer, the easiest way is to simply copy the QuantShare directory to the new computer (keep the same path)

I want to copy all QS to a new computer, as i'm changing computers.
- By QuantShare directory, do you mean C:\Program Files\CTrading\QuantShare, or some subdirectories under this?
- Do i still need to download and install Quantshare on the new computer?

thanks
Kiran

Hi Kiran,

No need to install the application again on the other computer, just copy the main directory c:\program files\ctrading\quantshare

I tried this and get this error - "Could not load file or assembly AzTrade, Version=1.0.0.0
Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

Pl advise how to fix this, so i can move all my QS work to my new computer. Need to do so in the next day or so, so quite urgent.

thanks
Kiran

Make sure you copy all the files. It looks like the file AzTrade.dll is missing.

Another solution would be to install QuantShare in the new computer (run it and make sure it works) then copy the files under c:\program files\ctrading\quantshare\database

I installed QS and copied the database folder.
One issue - I had created another account for futures in addition to Default account (for stocks) - I see everything in Default account, but don't see any other account.

How do I make the other account visible?

You probably not copied QuantShare in exactly the same location (or missed some files) as in the other computer.

In QuantShare, select "Accounts" then create a new account with the same name to rebuild that account.

I installed latest QS on my new machine and copied the Database folder from my old machine. I see my lists and simulation scripts, but don't see the ticker data in my Database (i.e. my Database is empty), so it won't download or show graphs.
- how do i fix this, so i can restore all my data and get this to work?

Hi Kiran,

You probably did not copy everything in the database folder. The best way to transfer all the data is to copy the whole QuantShare folder.
