Guru,

Need help setting up screener for price consolidation the last 5-10 bars, then 5%+ price gain on the bar prior to the last bar in the consolidation pattern.
Be nice to add volume gain on that same bar as well, something like volume > 1.4 * (sma(volume,50));

I got the consolidation part, but not the other:

istrue(absolute(perf(close,1))<0.5, 5)

Thanks a bunch.

Do you want to price gain to occur after the consolidation, right?

can you give both?

my consolidation rule might be wrong; it considered closing prices instead of highs/lows. If you have one, can you provide a correction?

Thanks.

Here a screen that uses high/low for consolidation:
Large price and volume gain after consolidation

To get large price gain before consolidation, use the following formula:
filter = cons1 and ref(priceinc > 5, bars1);

Trading financial instruments, including foreign exchange on margin, carries a high level of risk and is not suitable for all investors. The high degree of leverage can work against you as well as for you. Before deciding to invest in financial instruments or foreign exchange you should carefully consider your investment objectives, level of experience, and risk appetite. The possibility exists that you could sustain a loss of some or all of your initial investment and therefore you should not invest money that you cannot afford to lose. You should be aware of all the risks associated with trading and seek advice from an independent financial advisor if you have any doubts.
