I want to rename an account.

I have changed the name of the folder .../database/<name> and then reloaded the account via "account-change account-reload account"

It works so far, but my short cuts have been gone......

How to rename an account an keep the shortcuts?

JP

Under "Database" folder, locate the following file:

[OLD ACCOUNT NAME]bookmarks.az

Then rename it with the new account name.

[NEW ACCOUNT NAME]bookmarks.az

@systemtra.de:
the script doesnt copy
1. my watch lists (important)
2. my saved charts (not important)

@Quantshare: what about renaming ALL the [old-name]*.* to [new-name]*.* ? (didnt test it)

You should rename all [old-name*.az] files to restore all your settings

It works. With a renaming tool like Total Commander it is no problem.

It is always a good idea to make a backup (see "SystemTra.de" link)

@ JP:

watchlists and saved charts will be copied by the script as long as they are in the standard folders
..\Database\[AccountName]\Watchlist\
and
..\Database\[AccountName]\SavedCharts\

Trading financial instruments, including foreign exchange on margin, carries a high level of risk and is not suitable for all investors. The high degree of leverage can work against you as well as for you. Before deciding to invest in financial instruments or foreign exchange you should carefully consider your investment objectives, level of experience, and risk appetite. The possibility exists that you could sustain a loss of some or all of your initial investment and therefore you should not invest money that you cannot afford to lose. You should be aware of all the risks associated with trading and seek advice from an independent financial advisor if you have any doubts.
