This item no longer works.

You can use the following downloader instead: Historical Stock Market Data
------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is an item to download historical (end of day - EOD) quotes data from the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE).
You can define the historical periods or let the downloader downloads only the missing quotes. (For each symbol the start date will be set to the last quote date that is available for that symbol)

EOD Data is downloaded for each stock individually and thus you can download quotes for all NSE symbols or only for the symbols that you are interested in.
The data is not split adjusted, but a script could be easily created to adjust the quotes data for splits and dividends.
You can get a list of companies listed on the NSE here Ticker Symbols List of the National Stock Exchange, NSE, India. Combine this list and this downloader and you will be able to create a database with the EOD quotes data of all stocks listed in the NSE exchange.
You can also use the Yahoo downloader to import EOD quotes data from the NSE exchange, but unlike the Yahoo Downloader, almost all the ticker symbols were filled with data using this item.
Also, the difference between this downloader and the yahoo one for India stocks is the symbol names. The yahoo symbols for NSE stocks must end with '.NS'.

Example of a company listed in the NSE exchange:
Company name: Kirloskar Oil Engines Ltd.
Symbol name: KIRLOSOIL
Yahoo symbol name: KIRLOSOIL.NS

The high degree of leverage can work against you as well as for you. Before deciding to invest in financial instruments or foreign exchange you should carefully consider your investment objectives, level of experience, and risk appetite. The possibility exists that you could sustain a loss of some or all of your initial investment and therefore you should not invest money that you cannot afford to lose.
