Corporate Actions regarding companies listed on the National Stock Exchange are released every day on the NSE website and are downloaded by the current item.

A Corporate action is an event that occurs to a company. This event could affect the company's stock as well as the company's shareholders, employees, customers...
There are several types of corporate actions; the most known are stock splits (Increasing the number of outstanding shares and thus decreasing the stock share price) and dividend/bonuses (A cash dividend is an amount of money distributed to shareholders, this amount depends on the dividend value per share and the number of shares held by the investor).

The data is saved in a custom database whose name is "corporate_actions". The database has three fields:
Date: The record date is the date on which the company determines whose shareholders will be affected by the corporate action. For example, in the case of a dividend, the record date is the date on which the company lists the shareholders that will receive that dividend.
Ex_Date: The Ex Date is the date on which the corporate action is reflected in the stock or share price. For example, for a stock that trades at $100 and in the case of a 2-for-one split (Every shareholder will receive a new share for every outstanding share), the ex-date is the date on which the stock price will be $50.
Purpose: This field contains the details of the corporate action. Example: Interest Payment, Dividend, Split 1:2, Bonus 1:1, Scheme of arrangement...)

Trading financial instruments, including foreign exchange on margin, carries a high level of risk and is not suitable for all investors. The high degree of leverage can work against you as well as for you. Before deciding to invest in financial instruments or foreign exchange you should carefully consider your investment objectives, level of experience, and risk appetite. The possibility exists that you could sustain a loss of some or all of your initial investment and therefore you should not invest money that you cannot afford to lose. You should be aware of all the risks associated with trading and seek advice from an independent financial advisor if you have any doubts.
