Hi there,
i saw that the realtime version is now ready for download. Before I start premium I have to know something about the connection between quantshare and bloomberg anywhere. So, could you tell how to set up the DDE connection with bloomberg?
cheers Henning

Hi,

If you have access to QuantShare realtime version, select "Accounts -> Connections -> Add Connection" then use the following settings:

Name: BLP
Short Name: BLP
DDE Server: BLP

Last: M!'{Symbol},[LAST_PRICE]'
Last Size: M!'{Symbol},[SIZE_LAST_PRICE]'
Ask: M!'{Symbol},[ASK]'
Ask Size: M!'{Symbol},[ASK_SIZE]'
Bid: M!'{Symbol},[BID]'
Bid Size: M!'{Symbol},[BID_SIZE]'
Time: M!'{Symbol},[TIME]'

Click on "OK" then open the new connection by selecting "Accounts -> Connect -> [Your new DDE connection]"

Thanks a lot, is it free? Also, there is something like micro fxcm, (http://www.forexmicrolot.com), I believe this DDE link would work for this as well, please correct if I am wrong.

Only ask and bid data are available for currencies.

You have to change the "Group" field of each currency pair to "Currencies" (Symbol -> Update Symbol) in order to get last price (midpoint).

Trading financial instruments, including foreign exchange on margin, carries a high level of risk and is not suitable for all investors. The high degree of leverage can work against you as well as for you. Before deciding to invest in financial instruments or foreign exchange you should carefully consider your investment objectives, level of experience, and risk appetite. The possibility exists that you could sustain a loss of some or all of your initial investment and therefore you should not invest money that you cannot afford to lose. You should be aware of all the risks associated with trading and seek advice from an independent financial advisor if you have any doubts.
