as Microsoft released Windows 8 today I was curious whether the current version of Quantshare will work with Windows 8. Can we upgrade yet, or do you rather suggest to wait for the next Quantshare update?
Yes, QuantShare should work on Windows 8. But you must make sure that you have the .Net framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0) enabled. It is not enabled by default.
Thanks. To share some experience for the others, I upgraded to Windows 8 Pro today (no new installation, from Windows 7 Home). Quantshare runs smoothly without any adjustments necessary.
Hi
I have just installed Windows 8 and when I try to run Quantshare I got a pop-up window saying %u201CExtended Attributes are Inconsistent%u201D. After many experiments with various setups, it appeared that the problem was related to Windows sound notification for UAC prompt (sound scheme). So after changing the Windows sound scheme to Windows default, Quantshare runs as before under Windows 7.
In the computer section select %u201CControl Panel%u201D -> In control panel search bar (top right) type %u2018Sound%u2019 -> select %u201CChange system sounds%u201D -> select %u201CWindows User Account Control%u201D and change the sound to (none) or Windows Default then click OK.
