1. How are the 'group', 'market' , 'sector' etc for a list of symbols defined? Do I define them myself when creating a list, or is it according to what the data source defines (e.g. Yahoo), or something else?
2. How do I create a list of symbols so as I could reference it later on in the Symbols Selection Control?
For example, I am creating a list of the current members of the Nasdaq100. Is there a place where I should define it as a 'group' or give it another attribute?
And when I create a composite, how do I 'instruct' it to refer only to this group of Nasddaq100 stocks?
3. How do I find out the data source of various download objects? ... I would like to know where the data comes from, and find info on its accuracy, survivorship bias, adjustments etc.
4. I have downloaded a script for US delisted suymbols. Where do I get the quotes for these from? I have added the symbols to the Yahoo EOD downloader, but I am not sure if it can give me quotes for these or not.
5. Is there a single place where the scripts I download from the shared server are stored? Is there a tool that allows me to see what scripts I have downloaded and has available on my system?
6. How can I read the script/code for an object I download from the server? ... I wanted to read the code for download object (e.g. for 3 above) , but the same question is relevant to anything I would download.
7. Where can I find out the exact definition and code for the formulae used in an indicator?
2 - There are several ways to do this.
- Click Symbol -> Bulk Updater. In the new form, click "Select Symbols". Click on the cell under the "Name" column and select "Custom Symbols". Click on the next cell and type the symbols that compose the Nasdaq 100 then click on OK -> Select.
- Now, under the "Index" column, right click on a cell and click on "Select All". In the input box located at the top, type "NASDAQ100" then click on "Update"
- Click on "Save Changes" to save your symbols list.
- In the composite, using the Symbols Selection control, select "Index" then "NASDAQ100".
3 - Select the trading object, then click on "Update" (at the top) to see how this download item was created (See the documentation for more info)
5 - Trading objects are downloaded depending on their type. For example, download items can be seen here (Download -> Download Manager). Trading indicator can be seen here (Tools -> Create Functions). You can also see all the objects (those that are sharable), by clicking on Tools -> Sharing Server.
6 - For a download item, select this item and click on "Update"
7- For the code, select Tools -> Create Functions. For the definition see the object description (This is the description provided by the user who shared this indicator) or search the indicator on Google.

I have done the process as described - naming an Index, or, in another case, naming a Group - but I do not see this index or group names in the Symbol Selection control (of a composite or a trading system). What do I need to do ?
Other ways so that I can create a new Index or group name, and refer to it later on so as to retrieve its symbols?
