Breakout With Volume and liquidity

by Steeve Harvey, 3960 days ago

This trading system is quite simple.

- The script is looking to see if today's close is the higher high in the last 50 days.
- When it is it compares the breakout and the lowest close of the 14 days trading channel are not more than 7% to limit the risk.
-It verifies that the volume is at least 400 000 on the breakout day and that it is more than 3 times the average volume of the last 20 days.
- it compares the sma 150 and sma 100 to make sure the sma 150 is ascending
-it also verifies that the price is over the sma 150.

This cript was backtested from 1985 to 2013 on the Nasdaq and NYSE and showed average yearly returns of 18%.

Trading financial instruments, including foreign exchange on margin, carries a high level of risk and is not suitable for all investors. The high degree of leverage can work against you as well as for you. Before deciding to invest in financial instruments or foreign exchange you should carefully consider your investment objectives, level of experience, and risk appetite. The possibility exists that you could sustain a loss of some or all of your initial investment and therefore you should not invest money that you cannot afford to lose. You should be aware of all the risks associated with trading and seek advice from an independent financial advisor if you have any doubts.
