AccuTrack Indicator: This is the QuantShare version of the AmiBroker script for the Investor's FastTrack AccuTrack indicator. Note this the AmiBroker version is not a perfect duplication of the actual Investor's FastTrack version which goes from -100 to +100. However, it is a very close approximation. This version uses a fast EMA period = 6 and a slow EMA period = 24.
The AccuTrack Indicator compares the performance of the active chart symbol to the performance of another "index" symbol. In this script, performance is compared to a cash proxy, SHY. You want to be long the active symbol when it is "outperforming" cash (AccuTrack > 0) and be short or in cash when the active symbol is "underperforming cash (AccuTrack < 0).
The plot of the standard AccuTrack() function is a bit mundane. I spiced up my display by plotting the chartBar version and making the color green when the Indicator is above 0 and plotted a black horizontal line at the Threshold = 0:
// Plot multicolor histogram with Green when AccuTrack > 0
plot(AT, 'AccuTrack', colorRed, ChartBar, StyleSymbolNone);
UpdateColor(AT > 0, colorGreen);
plot(0. 'Threshold', colorBlack, ChartLine, StyleSymbolNone);
Trading financial instruments, including foreign exchange on margin, carries a high level of risk and is not suitable for all investors. The high degree of leverage can work against you as well as for you. Before deciding to invest in financial instruments or foreign exchange you should carefully consider your investment objectives, level of experience, and risk appetite. The possibility exists that you could sustain a loss of some or all of your initial investment and therefore you should not invest money that you cannot afford to lose. You should be aware of all the risks associated with trading and seek advice from an independent financial advisor if you have any doubts.
