This screener script makes it relatively quick and painless to apply splits to securities.
The script uses the QuantShare custom Splits database to display
the splits that have occurred (or are expected to occur) over a user-defined number of bars.
Enter the number of bars to use to identify splits in the BarsToEvaluate variable.
Use the Select Symbols button to choose the symbols of interest, and then run the script.
Once the splits are shown in the results section of the window, click on the small chart symbol
next to the Symbol column to bring up the associated chart. Then, you can use the built-in
QuantShare Split function (From the menu bar: Symbol -> Split) to apply the split.
For the script to work, you must have downloaded data for the Splits
custom database. The database can be installed using the QuantShare downloader
here: Splits Calendar - Historical data for U.S. Stocks
Make sure to update the Splits database occasionally using the downloader to keep the
split information current.
My thanks to the QuantShare team for creating a custom function, refstring, to help
display relevant information. For the script to work, you must also install the
refstring function from here: RefString
Trading financial instruments, including foreign exchange on margin, carries a high level of risk and is not suitable for all investors. The high degree of leverage can work against you as well as for you. Before deciding to invest in financial instruments or foreign exchange you should carefully consider your investment objectives, level of experience, and risk appetite. The possibility exists that you could sustain a loss of some or all of your initial investment and therefore you should not invest money that you cannot afford to lose. You should be aware of all the risks associated with trading and seek advice from an independent financial advisor if you have any doubts.
