Cash ON Hand for US stocks

I have developed this script to upload the data in the custom database "fundamental". This is a very easy script that downloads the data that I am interested in. This has only the field cash on hand. Typically, I expect companies that have cash on hand to be relatively better companies than the companies with very little cash on hand.

This data can be used more effectively when used with other screens that will allow to compare the stocks with most cash on hand within an industry group. My current scan shows that most of the banks have lot of cash on hand, and it probably does not make sense to compare with other industries.

I did see some companies that were not in the financial section, like GE who also have lot of cash on hand. Is this related to it being a financial institution or its other assets are not being valued properly. I will use this more frequently in addition to other field like EPS growth rate, market cap, PB and PS. There are other scripts that allow you to download this data.

Trading financial instruments, including foreign exchange on margin, carries a high level of risk and is not suitable for all investors. The high degree of leverage can work against you as well as for you. Before deciding to invest in financial instruments or foreign exchange you should carefully consider your investment objectives, level of experience, and risk appetite. The possibility exists that you could sustain a loss of some or all of your initial investment and therefore you should not invest money that you cannot afford to lose. You should be aware of all the risks associated with trading and seek advice from an independent financial advisor if you have any doubts.
