My name is Christoph, I am using Quantshare for the very first time. I'd like to use the system to backtest a trading strategy based on sentiment data I am currently experimenting with. Am I able to upload big data packages into Quantshare? And is there also historical data available on the site which users can work with? Thanks and best regards; Christoph

P.S: Didn't yet figure out what benefits the pay-version of Quantshare offers?

Hi Christoph,

Please check this blog post:

Also please note that QuantShare is not a free program. The trial version is fully functional but works only for few days.

Hi

Interesting, but that did not really answer my question; Am I able to upload vast amounts of data into the programm to analyze and backtest it? And has Quantshare a data source to tap as well, containing historical data of different kinds?

If it's not for free, you should get rid of the "Quantshare for free" entries popping up on google prominently. But anyway, if the program is strong I'd be willing to pay for it too. But for this I need to know a little bit more about its functionalities.

Best
Christoph

Yes, you can import any kind of data. The link I sent you uses the stocktwits downloaders to get tweets data into a custom QuantShare database.
You can find more information in several blog posts and in our manual.

It says "Try QuantShare for free". "Try".

Trading financial instruments, including foreign exchange on margin, carries a high level of risk and is not suitable for all investors. The high degree of leverage can work against you as well as for you. Before deciding to invest in financial instruments or foreign exchange you should carefully consider your investment objectives, level of experience, and risk appetite. The possibility exists that you could sustain a loss of some or all of your initial investment and therefore you should not invest money that you cannot afford to lose. You should be aware of all the risks associated with trading and seek advice from an independent financial advisor if you have any doubts.
