Hi,
If i would like to add True/False (1,0) columns in a screen,do i simply use the Iff function?

Also,I am looking at a screen I downloaded.

a1 = perf(close, 25);
a2 = comp(a1, "rank", industry(), close > 2);
filter = a2 < 5 and close > 2;

AddColumn("Return", a1);
AddColumn("Industry", industry());
AddColumn("Rank", a2);

What exactly is the "RANK" function,and how can I easily find definitions of QuantShare language functions.
I have a tough time searching for definitions in the QS language docs

Thanks,

Allan

"iff" or "iffstr" for text values.

To add a column, simply use the "AddColumn" function.

What exactly is the "RANK" function?
We have create many blog posts regarding the "Comp" function.

The "IFF" function description can be found in the documentation only.
The format is as follow:

a = iff(condition, series1, series2);

For each bar, if the condition is true then get value of series1 otherwise the value of series2 is returned.

Example:
a = iff(close > open, 1, 0);

Hi,
You have a n awesome product,but it is very difficult to reference the QS language.For a non programmer,it makes coding 2x as hard.

Maybe I am not utilising QS correctly,but when I code in other programs using their language,it is very easy to find their function with examples.
Simply right click and there is a library of Function reference in Alphabetical order..with examples

As far as I can tell,in QS one has to click on help,click on documentation PDF,which then redirects you to download another link.What would be a bit more helpful is if one could simply click on help and then have the options of QS functions by Category OR by Name (alphabetical).

Other progrmas simplify this process and even have a search feature.

Please understand that I really like this product,but alot of the help is very fragmented and makes the learning curve much steeper
