Italian stock market

The Borsa Italiana S.p.A is the main stock exchange in the Italian stock market. It is based in Milan and was acquired by the London Stock Exchange. Besides stocks, Borsa Italiana also manages Italy's derivatives markets and its fixed income market.

This current list contains 301 ticker symbols, mainly stocks listed in the Milan stock exchange (Borsa Italiana). Besides ticker symbols, this list contains also the company name, the company activity description, the industry, the market, the CUSIP number, the end of fiscal year month and the yahoo compatible symbol name for each company.

The yahoo compatible symbol name is used by the Yahoo EOD downloader to download historical quotes for Italian companies. Get the Yahoo object by downloading the following item: Yahoo EOD historical quotes.

The Borsa Italiana main indices are the S&P/MIB which is a capitalization-weighted index of the 40 biggest Italian companies and the MIBTel which covers all Italian shares that are listed on the MTA and MTAX market.

Sample of listed companies:
1) AISW -- AISW.MI -- Exprivia S.p.A. -- The Group's principal activity is the design, development and integration of technological solutions.
2) ANM -- ANM.MI -- Anima SGR -- The Company principal activity is the management of funds.
3) BGN -- BGN.MI -- Banca Generali Spa -- The Group's principal activity is the provision of integrated solutions of financial, banking and insurance products.
