This item downloads historical end-of-day data for stocks listed on the Euronext Brussels (Brussels Stock Exchange). The data is retrieved directly from the exchange website (www.euronext.com).

The item first gets the ISIN code of each stock or company. The ISIN code is an international code used to facilitate the identification of securities. ISIN codes as well as ticker symbols for companies listed on the Euronext Brussels can be downloaded here Brussels Stock Exchange. This object should be installed before using the current EOD downloader.

Once this item gets the ISIN code, it sends a request to the Euronext website asking for historical quotes for a period you choose. Finally, the server sends the stock quotes to the application. Before adding the data in your quotes database, a script is executed (The script role is to correct the volume field, because when there is no trading activity for a stock and on a particular day, the volume is reported as equal to '-'. The script role is to detect this and to set the volume field to zero in that case).

You can choose a custom start and end dates, or you can use 'Today' as the end date and 'Last download date' or 'Last symbol date' as the start date. Setting 'Today' as an 'end date' instructs the application to automatically assign the current day as the 'end date'. The 'Last download date' option tells the application to set automatically the 'start date' to the date the last time this downloader was executed, while the 'Last symbol date' instructs the application to set a different 'start date' for each stock (The 'start date' will be set to the last available quote date).

Trading financial instruments, including foreign exchange on margin, carries a high level of risk and is not suitable for all investors. The high degree of leverage can work against you as well as for you. Before deciding to invest in financial instruments or foreign exchange you should carefully consider your investment objectives, level of experience, and risk appetite. The possibility exists that you could sustain a loss of some or all of your initial investment and therefore you should not invest money that you cannot afford to lose. You should be aware of all the risks associated with trading and seek advice from an independent financial advisor if you have any doubts.
