A symbol is a short abbreviation used to uniquely identify a security or an asset. A symbol could refer to a stock, currency pair, options contract, index, composite or any time-series. Symbols are displayed on a combo-box under the menu. After you open a chart, you can update the symbol that is associated with it by selecting a new symbol in this combo-box. You can also select a symbol by clicking on this combo-box, typing the symbol name then pressing on the up or down arrow. Symbols can be added, removed or updated and each account has its own list of symbols. Symbol Information - Each symbol is associated with additional information such as the market, indices, descriptive name, currency, tick size... - Each symbol can be associated with several names (Name1, Name2, Name3).
