A database is a file that contains data/quotes of several stocks or assets. The historical database is called "Quotes". This database contains the close, open, high, low, volume and open-interest data for your securities. The intraday database is called "Intraday" and the tick database is called "Tick". Now let us say you want to save fundamental data, news or put-call data of your favorite stocks. In order to do this, you cannot use the "Quotes" database because the data will not fit in this database, however you can create a custom database with the appropriate columns. For a News database, you can for example create a database called "news" and then add three text columns: title, description, and category. Two important things: - Date column is automatically added to each database. Now there are several ways to add data. You can do it manually, using the ASCII Importer, Global Script or the Downloader Tool. We will see how to use these tools later. Note also that our members have also shared hundreds of ready to use download items including downloader for News, end-of-day data, Put-Call data, Market Timing strategies, Sentiment surveys...
