GetDataStringLast

This is a modified version of the "GetDataString" function which gets a string/text from a custom database field.
The modified version allows you to get the last (non empty) string on any given trading bar.

As an example, let us say that you have a database whose name is "db" and a field whose name is "fld".
In that database, there is a GOOG entry on 10/10/2017 which a value of "true".

If you want to plot that entry on a watchlist using:
AddColumn("Name", GetDataString("db", "fld", ""));

You will get an empty string since current date is say 12/11/2017 and there is no entry on that date in the custom database.

Using the modified version woud allow you to display the entry value since this is the last entry available before 12/11/2017.
AddColumn("Name", GetDataStringLast("db", "fld", ""));

Trading financial instruments, including foreign exchange on margin, carries a high level of risk and is not suitable for all investors. The high degree of leverage can work against you as well as for you. Before deciding to invest in financial instruments or foreign exchange you should carefully consider your investment objectives, level of experience, and risk appetite. The possibility exists that you could sustain a loss of some or all of your initial investment and therefore you should not invest money that you cannot afford to lose. You should be aware of all the risks associated with trading and seek advice from an independent financial advisor if you have any doubts.
